From a development and potential growth perspective this region has some of the most exciting prospects in Africa. Despite political and security challenges, substantial investment is being made in the region, both by Somalia's significant diaspora population and by international investors.  There is tremendous support of local efforts to achieve stability from various governments globally and NGOs are increasingly involved in supporting initiatives across the region.

The insurance sector has, after many years of absence, only recently started to re-evolve.
